To get the best experience from LocalFiles, I highly encourage everyone to standardize their local media using one of the many free metadata enhancer softwares. I recommend "meta<browser/>" at http://themetabrowser.com », which not only standardizes the names of your local media, but fills in the missing details for your Movies and TV series using IMDB, tMDB and TVDB. "meta<browser/>" Automatically retrieves and stores thumbnail images, DVD Posters and BoxArt too.
Other metadata enhancer softwares can be found here (http://www.thehtpc.net/plugin-index/#metadata »).
LocalFiles uses metadata in a very intelligent way to speed up menu displays, simplify titles and provide images to your DLNA player.
If you want to add your own images to your media files try "Custom BoxArt"
Custom BoxArt...per Media File
If you have a media file (e.g. "Batman.avi"), you name your favorite .jpg image the same name (e.g. "Batman.jpg") and place it in the same folder. Amazon.com » is a good location to find BoxArt
...per TV Series Directory
If you want all the media in a folder to have the same image, such as TV series (e.g. Scrubs S1E1.avi, Scrubs S1E2.avi,... etc), rename your favorite .jpg image as "Folder.jpg" and place it in the directory that has the series TV media.
Note: If you have both examples in one folder, (e.g. "Folder.jpg", "Batman.jpg"), The the named .jpg will trump the "Folder.jpg".
Manual Installation:Stop the PlayOn server and close the Settings Manager if open.
To install the plugin, simply place the ".plugin" file into "..\Program Files\MediaMall\plugins", ("..\Program Files (x86)\MediaMall\plugins\" in 64-bit versions).
Restart the server.
